Teeth whitening is the process of lightening and brightening your teeth by removing discoloration that may have built up over time. There are different types of teeth whitening options, ranging from over the counter products to custom take-home kits and in-office whitening treatments.
Zoom Teeth Whitening is our in-house whitening treatment that accelerates the bleaching process and provides faster, enhanced results to our patients. As the hydrogen peroxide solution breaks down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin of your teeth in order to bleach them, while leaving the structure of teeth unchanged and unharmed. The entire procedure takes less than an hour, leaving you with a whiter, brighter smile in one quick visit!
One of our hygienists will prep you by ensuring you have clean teeth to start with. Next, they’ll place a cover over your gums and lips so that your teeth are accessible and ready for treatment. You’ll also get some protective glasses to wear.
Next, whitening gel is applied to your teeth and the Zoom lamp is placed over them for 15-minute increments. This process is repeated three separate times; in between sessions the dentist will check your progress to ensure you’re achieving the desired results.
Lastly, the Riverview and Apollo beach dentist will coat your teeth in a special fluoride gel paste to help reduce the potential for any tooth sensitivity following your treatment. Depending on your specific whitening goals, you may also be given a take-home touch up kit to maintain your whitening at home.
First-time patients in need of a routine exam can also take advantage of our $89 New Patient Special, which includes a cleaning, exam, and set of x-rays.
